Unless explicitly stated on the documentation for a method, the accepted Web API call content types are:

Calls using any other content type (ex: text/plain) are not supported.

TeamDynamix.Api.Cmdb.BackingItemType.Asset

Indicates that a configuration item is based on a TeamDynamix asset in the asset management application.

This is a member of the TeamDynamix.Api.Cmdb.BackingItemType enumeration with a value of 27.
